Recently, I met with a potential client. I showed them my resume, draft proposal of the work they were interested in hiring me for. I was asked the following questions:
1. As a business owner, what is the one thing that you are passionate about? I am passionate about helping others to succeed in their business endeavors.
2. What is the one thing that keeps you awake at night? The one thing that keeps me awake at night is how can I advocate for obtainable and suitable housing for those who need it the most.
3. What is the one thing you could do regardless if you were paid or not? I do run my small non-profit that deals with human and sexual trafficking of our innocent children. The one thing I do is advocate for stronger laws and protections for those convicted of human and sexual trafficking of our innocent children. Even though, I do not receive any monetary pay, I can say that lives I have touched are truly worth it.
I normally ask some of these questions to my clients and potential clients. Rarely do I get asked some of these questions too. I enjoy people seeing me as someone who is passionate not just about the business I do, but I am passionate about helping those who need our help the most, our children.
I want other business owners to know it is perfectly fine to show others you care about your business and those in the communities you serve too.
Please leave your answers to these questions in the comments too.
