Should Workers Be Compelled TO Return To The Office

smptbusinessconsul

Returning to work and getting rid of working remotely is something we are hearing a lot about. Employers want you to return to the office. Employees do not want to return to the office. Is there a way to compromise or is it one or the other? This is something businesses need to address.

1. Does it affect your bottom line with your employees working remotely?

2. Does returning to the office truly foster collaboration and/or innovation?

3. Is there an option where you can work remotely, but all quarterly meeting are held in the office?

4. Does it make sense to downsize from a large building into a smaller one to not spend thousands on electricity, water, property taxes if you pay them?

Again, the pandemic has shown us that working remotely is a feasible option. You can track employees in Microsoft to see how much work they are doing, how much time they are spending on breaks and etc. At the rate we are going, if compromises are not made, great employees will leave your business. Some will go to your competitor if they have spoken to a lawyer knowledgeable in non-compete loopholes, others may start their own businesses, and the rest may retire. Can you afford to part ways with the people who are making you money and keeping you in business? Can you afford to suffer the potential blow to your reputation that a PR Consultant may not be able to get you out of? These are some things to ponder as Business Owners and CEO's. If you need any help with making the right decision, please do not hesitate to give us a call. What you do in terms of remote working will affect your businesses.
